D’s Sat 7.13 meals

Breakfast – two scrambled eggs in butter.

My husband and I had tons of errands to run and it took a lot longer than expected so at about 1:15 I was so hungry that I asked him to drive through Chick fil a. I ordered chicken salad, no bread and it came it a nice little serving – probably about 2/3 of a cup. It tasted great and definitely took the edge off so I could wait until we got home to make a big salad for lunch. 7-13-lunch 7.13-dinnerI think this is one of the prettiest salads I’ve made with lots of colors – red leaf lettuce, iceberg lettuce, carrots, radishes, cucumbers, pumpkin seeds. Tomorrow I’m starting my Whole 30 days and I bought the ingredients to make the homemade mayo. I’ll post the link tomorrow.For this salad today, I used 1 tbsp Trader Joe’s Organic Mayo (no carbs) and mixed it with 1 tbsp Bragg’s Healthy Dressing. Then sprinkled some ground pepper on top.

Dinner – my stepson and his cute dog were visiting. His longtime girlfriend is out of town training for her job. So the three of us had a nice dinner of pork chops and sauteed veggies – cabbage, onions and Trader Joe’s Haricort Verts. I sprinkled some garlic powder and Chipotle Pepper Flakes on them while cooking. Very tasty.

Snacks today were 1. about 6 macadamia nuts and 4 cherries, 2. celery sticks with Whole Foods Spicy Garden Cheese Dip. That will be the last of the cheese for me as it’s not allowed on the Whole 30 plan. I also had to toss the rest of the peanuts yesterday afternoon. Only about 1/8 of the jar left so not too much of a waste. But out of site, out of mind! Or if not out of mind, too inconvenient to go to the store to get some more! I bought some almonds and cashews to make up for it. I would have bought some more macadamia nuts, but they were SO expensive.

Excercise – just a short walk after dinner with husband, stepson and two happy dogs.
