I generally hate running. Though I am guessing I hate it because:
- It exhausts me;
- My fat jiggles a lot when I run;
- It tends to be boring; and
- I am not fast at all.
So, to make it more interesting (and also I’ve read this is how to make yourself faster), instead of plodding along at a constant speed, I am doing interval training (I think that’s what it’s called). This is where you alternate short spurts of fast running with whatever more comfortable speed you go.
My comfortable speed is walking, so here is what I did for training P the Triathlete today:
Walk 3 minutes to warm up
Run 1 minute, walk 1 minute – alternate this for 15 minutes
Walk 4 minutes to cool down.
Total time: 22 minutes.
